Mr. Jones gave us a test about the solar system. My score was 19/20! Probably the best score I've had on a science test in a really long time! The only one I got wrong was only, apparently, 3/4 wrong, so I was only 1/4 off. Isn't that awesome?! So I learned the difference between meteoroids, meteors, and meteorites, the order of the planets, and how day and night are possible. I still don't completely understand seasons yet, but I'll get there someday. But in the mean time, I'm proud of my score.
Did You Know?
There is an asteroid belt called the Kuiper Belt between Mars and Jupiter. When a bit of an asteroid breaks of, that bit is called a meteoroid. A meteoroid is only called a meteor when it gets caught by Earth's gravitational pull. But when a meteor hits the ground, it is a meteorite!
